it allows you to select item
numbers allocated to each unique
image. These item numbers are
the key to how you tell us which
image you would like made into
a rubber stamp.
Clipart Selection
At Clipart.com you will have
over 6 million images to select
from, of these; over 3 million
are suitable for stamp making.
It is very easy to filter out
unsuitable clipart before searching
the database, an example of
the search and image filter
box shown on the right.
To give you an example of image
selection, searching for Teddy
Bears with no filtering would
return a staggering 1139 teddy
bear images, if you made the
same search by checking the
colour filter off would reduce
your selection to 182 black
and white Teddy Bear images.
You can still make stamps using
coloured images if you convert
the image into black and white
using a program such as CorelDraw.
Selection Guidelines
If you don't wish to bother
with the technical side of image
selection just enter your image
keyword, check off colour and
select Illustrations
or Clipart
as the media. (If you can't
check off colour your computer
is restricting it's interaction
with Clipart.com, to fix this
you must tell your computer
that it to allow 'cookies' from
Clipart.com, otherwise you won't
be able to check off colour
in the search box, to set this
up click

The most common image formats
at Clipart.com are JPG and EPS.
And remember, you don't need
to subscribe to have stamps
made from any of the images
at Clipart.com
Image Item Numbers
Once you have selected an image
that you would like made into
a rubber stamp you need to collect
the image item # by copying
and pasting it into the form
provided on the right.
The image item number is located
at the bottom left of each image,
swipe this item # then copy
and paste into one of 3 stamp
size options. It's as simple
as that! You can order up to
12 individual stamps on each
order.

Clipart is available in two
different formats, Vector images
(lines) or Bitmap images (pixels).
A simplified example would be
to imagine drawing a cartoon
figure, this would be a Vector
image, a photograph in the newspaper
is a Bitmap image.
The most common electronic
Vector formats available are
.eps and .wmf, whereas .jpeg
an .gif are the Bitmap equivalent.
Both image formats can produce
excellent stamps; however Vector
images (.eps and .wmf) allow
you to easily manipulate line
thickness in the event the lines
are too thin.
If you find that the search
is producing too many black
and white photographs and you
are after a simple black and
white image make sure only .eps
and .wmf are checked.
You also have a further filter
called media, here the most
suitable filters are ILLUSTRATIONS
and CLIPART.
Illustrations are bitmap images
(.jpg and .gif) and most make
excellent stamps being careful
to check line thicknesses of
the image first, for example,
if you where looking for a Victorian
era stamp image you would select
Illustrations as these are all
hand drawn images that have
been scanned to become available
in electronic format.
The Clipart selection is available
in both bitmap and vector formats,
here it is best to select the
.eps and .wmf filters so if
line thickness is an issue these
can be manipulated before production
of the stamp.
